TREATMENT OF CONCRETE SURFACES MULTI-STOREY CAR PARK. (CHLORIDE REHABILITATION)

A multi-storey car park concrete surfaces were treated with Controll® Innerseal. and  Controll® Topseal . The treated surface of concrete surfaces (C20/ 25) amounted to approximately 1.800 m2.

The concrete of a 25-year-old garage was badly damaged over the years by thaw with de-icing salt (NaCl). Corrosion damage indexed to chloride templates range in the area of the wall up to a height of 1.2 meters, and in the entire floor. The existing concrete was to be classified as hydrophilic to heavy sucking (w-value >3,0 kg/h* 0,5). The advanced carbonation (up to 40 mm) has already led to the corrosion fractures of the reinforcement bars of the load-bearing walls and concrete columns.

The concrete floor was mechanically release of paint, coating and epoxy linings in some areas and penetration oil with the help of Controll® Conclean remove. The 5-time application with Controll® Innerseal. was the low-slung malicious brine from the concrete out transported (Gel Crystal reaction to the condensing surface), the concrete was protected permanently waterproof and against future stress by de-icing salts.

Here, an active remediation of chloride was created with concurrent permanent protection for the steel reinforcement and the newly installed replacement mortar. The consumption amounted to approximately 0,7 l/m2. After approximately 4 – 6 weeks, the surfaces were cleaned and sealed with Controll® Topseal . Here the consumption amounted to approximately 0.2 l / m2.

Controll® Innerseal and Controll® Topseal  are non-toxic and therefore not distinguishing mark according to the hazardous substances regulation. They are colourless, odourless, solvent-free, non-flammable and bio-degradable. Leave no film coating, but a transparent, clear and natural interface.

Controll® Innerseal makes concretes resistant to chemical attack and impervious to water against both, positive and negative hydrostatic pressure, and is an active a deeply urgent corrosion protection of reinforcement steel in concrete (Deep penetration > 195 mm). Also, any harmful salts in the mineral building material cast out during the crystallization and curing process.

Controll® Topseal  includes water-soluble potassium Methylsilanetriolate with organic catalyst, which a deep penetrating allows up to 6 cm. It forms a strong water and dirt repellent surface, which is very easy to clean. The surface treated with Controll® Topseal  is still protected against efflorescence, environmental factors (air pollution) and UV rays. The chemical resistance is increased.

Beyond the product properties Controll® Innerseal and Controll® Topseal  stand out due to low cost and short lay on times.
